I first came across Butchoff Antiques in November 2007.

Butchoff have a vast knowledge of antiques and an enormous range and variety of pieces available for sale. They listen patiently to the client’s wishes, gain an understanding of their tastes and follow with excellent advice.

On our first meeting, Adam, director of Butchoff Antiques, not only explained about their items of antique furniture but also gave me a general overview of periods, woods, styles, makers etc.

He advised what furniture, paintings and ornaments would best suit my flat and taste. He suggested some items he thought would be good for my flat such as a pair of console tables, a large bookcase, mirrors, beautiful bronze figures, decorative wall lights and so on.

Adam brought most of the items to my flat for me to compare. When I bought dining chairs, he brought me 2 complete sets of dining chairs to choose from.

I liked almost all of the pieces Adam brought to my flat for approval, but the few I didn’t he took it back immediately and searched for alternatives, rather than pushing me.

Adam advised me further on how I could achieve a traditional and beautiful flat.

He suggested hanging a chandelier in the sitting room, changing the wall colours and some of the curtains. He introduced me to an art painter and a curtain designer. As ever he arranged everything, this time while I was away on holiday abroad. When I returned, I was astonished to find my flat had been transformed into a beautiful traditional home. It was amazing.

Now, I live in a wonderful flat. I’m very proud of it and it is all thanks to Butchoff Antiques. I am extremely grateful to the Butchoff family for helping me realise my dream home.

Our first dealing with Butchoff Antiques was in July 2008.

We had been looking for an antique yet practical dressing table and mirror for quite a while, without success.

After meeting with Adam, director of Butchoff, to explain our requirements, he searched for a suitable piece. Within a few weeks he brought 3 beautiful examples to our house to choose from, a very convenient and thoughtful service. One of the dressing tables was perfect for us.

It was the first of many items we went on to purchase from Butchoff Antiques. Over the past 4 years, we have bought many exquisite pieces, including a dining table and set of chairs, a display cabinet and a gilded mirror with matching consol table for our homes in London, Paris and Japan.

Over a number of years I have asked for Adam’s guidance when choosing furniture and pictures for my house and they consistently stock many wonderful pieces, and a visit to their showroom is akin to visiting Aladin’s Cave.
