Constructed in well figured mahogany, rising from flattened turned bun feet, the baseboard incurved, with lotus based fluted and wrythen knopped columns supporting the apron, decorated in the Grecian taste. The fall front closure, adorned with a stylised laurel wreath, reveals a particularly well fitted interior with lockable cupboards, pigeon holes and drawers: the writing slope leather inlaid; similar columns flanking, and the top surface have a brass cast and pierced gallery with stylised Vitruvian scrolls. The sheer quality of this piece predicates its’ manufacture by a leading manufacturer, familiar with Akermann’s Repository of the Arts, from whence the design of our piece is taken.
