A Pair of Pedestals in the Louis XVI Manner

Constructed in kingwood, and dressed with ormolu gilt bronze mounts; rising from stepped rectangular plinths, dressed with bronze stiff leaf ormolu mounts, the columns of tapered and shouldered form, having musical and martial trophies in ormolu, within bronze laurel wreath arms, enclosing polychrome painted elliptical porcelain plaques of 18th century court ladies; the upper platforms having quarter veneered panels, and further ormolu beadings.
