The whole, gilt. The shaped and lobed cornered top of carved gesso has in the center the figures of Diana and a stag in a cartouche, the stag and deer motif repeating among the copious arabesques. The apron is centered by a stylized scallop shell, and has an opposed running Vitruvian scrolls. The corners are decorated with grotesque masks, with bellflower trailings, and the cabriole legs have inturned scroll feet with acanthus enrichments.
