A Regency Period Painted Sycamore Center Table
It is of elegant Regency proportions, veneered in a blonde undulating sycamore and painted with decorative details of floral bouquets and emblems of Love and Music. The table is supported on a tapering hexagonal stem with tripartite base and oblate bun feet concealing brass casters. The tilting circular top has a wide painted reserve of allegorical cartouches interspersed with flowers.
English, circa 1825
