A Fine Commode in the Louis XV Manner after a model by Jacques Dubois

It is constructed in book-matched kingwood veneers, inlaid with floral motifs, and richly decorated with fine ormolu mounts. It is of bombe serpentine form, with the two drawers framed within a foliate ormolu cartouche and conforming ormolu scrolled sabots and espagnolettes. The sides have conforming ormolu cartouches enclosing the quarter veneers, dressed with foliate marquetry, and there is a Breche d’Alep platform with a thumbnail molded edge.
