A similar set of armchairs are pictured in the dining room at Syon House in the 1920s, which was decorated by Robert Adam between 1762-1769. The Victoria and Albert Museum also have in their collection a set of chairs of comparable design, which are described as exemplifying the 'Adam' style and similar to the designs by furniture maker, John Linnell.
