A Good Bureau Cabinet in the Early Georgian Manner

Of good proportions, constructed in walnut with feather banding: rising on shaped bracket feet, three graduated drawers the lowest having a sunburst parquety panel, atop, two short drawers, all fitted with solid shaped backplates and swan neck handles, cut brass escutcheons; the hinged fall having a notebook rest, concealing the shaped and stepped interior, fitted with further small drawers and pigeonholes; the upper section having a pair of candle slides; the cabinet being enclosed by a pair of arched panel doors, inside an arrangement of vertical dividers, and further drawers and pigeon holes the pediment of broken arch form and with, further sunburst parquetry inlays.
