Nosotti & Co

The firm of Nosotti & Co, ‘looking-glass and frame manufactory,’ was founded by the Milan-born Charles Andrea Nosotti in 1822 and specialised in carved and gilded items. From their Oxford Street premises in London, the company gained a reputation for well-designed and high-quality carved items, expanding their repertoire to include furniture as well as mirrors and frames. They presented their work at several World Fairs, including the 1862 London International Exhibition and the Paris 1867 Expo. The business was wound up in 1886, when a sale of their stock was held.
