A Lacquer Cabinet-on-Stand
Of Generous Proportions
Consisting of a rectangular two-door cabinet on a giltwood stand in the Georgian manner, the mahogany carcass japanned on the front with a courtly scene of figures in a landscape surrounded by nature and pavilions, the sides depicting birds within a landscape, reinforced and decorated with engraved brass angles, hinges and lock plates, opening to reveal a mahogany-lined and shelved interior and japanned scenes of birds to the reverse of the door panels. The giltwood stand with a carved frieze and cabriole legs.
