A Sterling Silver Gemstone-Inlaid Enamelled Chess Set
An exquisite example of silversmithing, with every surface covered in Renaissance Revival hand-engraved decoration, the chess board of gilt and anodized squares, set with 32 enamelled and hand-chased chess pieces, surrounded by a roped gallery, the sides of the board set with turquoise enamel plaques, each corner bearing scrolling metalwork set with turquoise and mother-of-pearl gemstones; the board lifting up to reveal a velvet-lined storage compartment with chain fittings. The clasp marked "Sterling Silver."
