Description
Constructed in oak, rising from wood castor shod bun footed baluster legs adorned with lotus leaf carving, the body of everted sarcophagus form, carved with ring handles, with a zinc lined interior.
English, Circa 1840
Drawing inspiration from the Roman and Grecian fashion promoted by the architect Richard Bridgens and popularised by his Furniture with Candelabra and Interior Decoration, London, 1838, the marble of the originals is recreated in wood.
