An Impressive Alabaster Figural Lamp
By Enrico Castellucci
The stained alabaster pedestal base having an octagonal waisted plinth surmounted by a torsade column supporting the carved tri-handled bowl with a floral frieze, incorporating a skilfully carved light-emitting and removable cover as well as a central platform upon which an elegant carved figure of a maiden stands, her drapery of contrasting diaphanous onyx. The bowl signed "N. 1082 / Made in Italy / E. Castellucci."
