A Fine Music Cabinet of Great Historical Importance

Constructed in mahogany, of architectural form, rising from a plinth base; the lower part having a glazed door revealing a shelved interior; over, a fitted cabinet, flanked by stiles, and surmounted by a Doric triangular pediment. Bearing a plaque, a gift to Sir Hubert Parry.

Sir Hubert Parry wrote the immortal music to accompany William Blake’s poem,  ‘Jerusalem’  a hymn known and revered by every true Englishman. He was Professor of Music at the University of Oxford until his death in 1918.
