A French Mantle Clock of the Charles X Period

Description
Constructed in palisander, foliate and line inlaid in boxwood; rectangular form case, surmounted by a gilt bronze carrying handle, houses a circular faced eight day clock with subsidiary dials for the day / date features, striking the hours on a bell, the engraved steel chapter ring delineating the hours in Roman numerals; the rear inspection door permits access to the winding and adjustment mechanism.
