Description
Constructed in floral carved giltwood, the shaped symmetrical swept frames having female mask mounts on a foliate ground, with internal reserves separating the mirror plates, and grotesque male masks to the lower parts.
Italian, Circa 1740
Graham Child's 'World Mirrors 1650-1900', published by Sotheby's in 1990, shows a similar frame, ascribed to Tuscany on pp 269.
