A Pair of North Italian Girandoles of Large Size
Constructed in carved giltwood, etched mirror plates and gilt metal candle arms; the trapezoidal serpentine mirror plates, etched with male and female figures in 18th century costumes, within borders of running floral garlands are enclosed within conformingly shaped frames, richly carved with foliates and foliage, with addorsed mermaids reclining between pierced scallop crests, and pendant floral terminals below, issuing double scrolled candle arms, the bobeches fitted with drip trays.
