An Austro-German Specimen Wood Centre Table
of Exhibition quality
A finely inlaid Austro-German hexagonal centre table of exhibition quality, richly decorated with specimen timbers throughout. The shaped top, with a moulded edge, centres on a medallion surrounded by an expansive border of geometric parquetry motifs set against an ebony ground. The deep apron is veneered with specimen wood panels framed by chequered banding and stylised hexagonal wheels.
The tapering central shaft rises from a hipped tripartite base surmounted by turned finials with chequered inlay. The legs are applied with moulded panels and rest on concealed wooden castors.
