DescriptionConstructed in the Louis XVth Manner, the monumental gilt bronze framework housing hand painted porcelain plaques of nautical scenes, signed ‘Venoit; rising from scrolled feet, the exuberantly shaped case decorated with masks and putti; the circular enamel dial displaying the hours in Roman numerals, and the minutes in Arabic numerals; the two train 8 day silk suspension movement striking on a bell.
