Description
A Good French Mantle Clock in the Chinoiserie Taste
Constructed in gilt bronze; the shaped case having oriental form scroll feet and decorated with foliates, and surmounted with a figure of a Chinese lady of quality in traditional robes holding a ‘jewelled’ mirror; the circular steel dial of the clock having Roman incised numerals, and housing an eight day silk suspension movement, with the hours striking on a bell.
