A Pair of Ormolu-Mounted Vases
In the Louis XVI Manner

Constructed from Griotte Rouge marble and mounted with finely hand-chased and burnished gilt bronze, rising from incurved square moulded bases with panelled guilloches and rosettes, the ovoid bodies supported on waisted ormolu socles with laurel wreaths at their feet; the bodies having reserves of running guilloches and bronze pearls, flanked by scrolling handles issuing from bacchanalian satyr masks, capped with circular lids having pinecone finials.
