The Windsor Beauties
The Windsor Beauties are a collection of portrait paintings created by Sir Peter Lely and his workshop in the early to mid-1660s. Commissioned by Anne Hyde, Duchess of York, the paintings depict ladies of the court of King Charles II, some of whom were his mistresses. The name ‘Windsor Beauties’ originates from the original location of the collection at Windsor Castle.
