A Matched Pair of Generously Proportioned Windsor Armchairs by Flashman of Dover

Constructed in mahogany, rising from club foot cabriole legs, with double stretchers, supporting saddle seats, with swept arms, having shaped centre splats, flanked by turned supports under the serpentine top rails. One chair stamped twice, Flashman, Dover.

English, Circa 1890

Flashman of Dover are recorded as being established in 1832, at Last Lane, later moving to Market Place and Chapel Street. The company ceased to trade in 1922.
